I have been learning to paint with distress inks yesterday and today, I did try painting with them about 6months ago but I wasn't 100% happy with the outcome, question is are these any better? or should I go back to my copics? I'd love your honest opinions :o)
Thanks for any help, guidance or helpful tips :o)
Hugs

These are gorgeous - wish I could get these kind of results with DI. Guess I will just have to keep practising xx
ReplyDeleteYou cannot be serious? Please please do not throw these out Teresa! They look good to me! Judy x
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd keep them, I reckon you've done a grand job. You get different results with the inks & I find they don't blend as well as Copics but that's okay as they are water based not alcohol. I can't suggest anything to do better because I think you've got it spot on! Zo xx
ReplyDeleteOooh forgot to say I have seen some peeps who do this then use their pencils to add more depth to the colour/shade/tone etc. Zo xx
ReplyDeleteDefo, brilliant teresa, yes, put them on a card! you`ve done really well, i love how you`ve coloured them! xx
ReplyDeleteFor me they look great !! Great shading. I should use them. Love from Holland , Christa.

These are fabulous Teresa - amazing results - you must be an incredle perfectionist to see anything wrong - they're just gorgeous!!!! xx
ReplyDeleteTeresa they look fantastic to me, please dont throw them out. I don't suppose you can get the same effect with DI as with Copics as they are different mediums. Nice to do for a change, I bought the full set of DI markers when they came out but sent them back as I could not get them to blend, so you have done a fantatic job.

Hey hun, just popped over to see what you have been up to with the DIs - WOW! These little Tildas are looking soooooo gorgeous, great work my friend, you've cracked it! Honestly hun, these are so lovely, beautifully delicate colourwork and shading. You should be proud sweetie. Hugs Sxx
ReplyDeleteI like them Teresa - DI gives a completely different look to alcohol markers - I like colouring with DI cos even though they don't do blending as well as copics etc I like the finished look - so keep!
ReplyDeleteThey look very fine to me Teresa!!!! Maybe if you color them the same way but then with your copics, you can see the difference and decide what you like best?? But I think those pictures look very fine to me!
ReplyDeletegr. arjette.
Well I agree with everybody else keep them, they are great!
ReplyDeleteI keep giving DI a go, I find I am very critical of the DI work as I get such a great blend with Copics. I guess the question is what is it about the images that you see you don't like? You have great contrast of colours, your blending is spot on, what would you like to see. Don't know if that helps, but it the question I ask myself, it's helped with my Copic work. Going to give it a try with my DI next :-D Sorry for long rambling comment xx
They're gorgeous Teresa, the beauty of inks is you can get your own individual look. I do love the soft/subtle look, and yours are perfect. I do my inks quite heavy and then do my shading with the walnut stain ~ not every ones cup of tea, but that's my style.

ReplyDeleteIf you have a look at Dena's link in my tutorial she shows how to add more depth in the shading, not that I'm saying you need it-I don't always do it, it's just nice to have the option there.
