Distressed Tilda

Hiya all,
As I look at all the beautiful cards where people have used distress inks for painting I keep thinking I would love to have a go at that, so I set myself a New Year Resolution to have a go,
well the other afternoon I did and although I wasn't too displeased with the results, she's not perfect by any means, so I asked the opinions of my friends on Docrafts and they said I should put her on a card, so here goes...don't laugh :o)

I did enjoy painting so I shall have another go and hopefully get better.

Thanks for looking.

  29. Teresa! Yay! I'm so glad you tried distress inks. Your Tilda looks fabulous! I think you did a really great job on her. You will become addicted so be forewarned! haha! I like how you have a softer hand than I do. I tend to keep adding and adding haha! Very pretty soft look!

  30. Hunny this is fab! My first attempt with DIs went straight in the bin. But I persevered and now hardly use anything else. There is a tutorial for beginners on my blog and a gallery of my fave DI results if you fancy a browse sometime, you'd always be welcome. Hugs Sxx

  34. Hi Teresa - This is great & well done for your first attempt at DI's! Your Copic colouring is fabulous but this is a totally different technique whilst working on simelar principles, so as a first go I think you've done a fab job!
For me personally I'd say just a little more contrast next time ie. more shading round the edges which I do with either Pumice Stone (grey) OR Walnut Satin (dark brown), depending on the colours your working in, then Black Soot. But beware if you do try it, you only need the tiniest of touches with them especially the black.
Hope that helps & good luck with your DI venture!
